Young Futures Volunteer

Are you enthusiastic and approachable? Do you want to support young people? If so… we want to hear from you!

What will I be doing?

  • Basic administration tasks,
  • Supporting activities during weekday evenings,
  • Supporting on trips during school holidays.

Where will I be volunteering?

St George’s Community Centre, Broadway, Lupset, Wakefield WF2 8AA.

What is the time commitment?

  • An evening weekly during term time,
  • A morning and/or afternoon weekly during school holidays.

Who will I be volunteering with?

Young Futures Staff and other volunteers.

Who will support me?

Keri, our Volunteer Co-Ordinator, and the Young Futures Team.

What do you need from me?

  • Flexible, reliable and trustworthy,
  • Patient, tolerant and resilient,
  • Enthusiastic, encouraging and imaginative,
  • The ability to ensure confidentiality,
  • Able to follow our Safeguarding policies (full training will be provided),
  • Willing to work alongside other volunteers and staff to ensure the smooth running of the Young Futures activities.

  • A supportive environment where you can develop your existing skills as well as gain new skills, with a dedicated Volunteer Co-ordinator. providing regular one-to-one supervisions.

  • St George’s will cover expenses for volunteers such as your bus fare to travel to and your volunteer role.

  • DBS (free for volunteers)
