We sat down with Umar, who has recently gained employment, to talk about the impact volunteering at St George's had on him.
He spoke about how quickly he was put at ease despite the nerves he initially felt at coming to the centre for the first time. Umar also made a great case for volunteering, listing multiple benefits, from getting out of the house to giving back.
I think St George's helped me not just in terms of helping me find employment, but it's just somewhere I had a good time, something that I looked forward to and I met new people.
